Skills
My main skill would be my artwork in the program Photoshop, this is where most of my creations are made currently. I prefer to paint my artwork freehand instead of using photomanipulations. I believe anything can have it’s own spark added to it or found interesting and enjoy working with a wide variety of subject matter from environments, to small props. I concentrate on one style of painting most of the time, although really like to branch off now and again to practice other styles.
As I hear from concept artist veterans speed is a must when working in the games industry, so it’s good to paint a lot of speedy ideas on the occasion as I do now. Ive had some experience in storyboarding, in a workshop at university, and out of education time. I love to visualize how the game or movie will play out in my head, much like reading a book and visualizing it as you read.
Since beginning university I have been using 3dstudio max, feeling much more confident and finding it much easier then last year. Recently I’ve also been using the animation feature in max, altering bipeds and creating short animations for one of my modules. Zbrush is another program I am quickly getting familier with.
Objective
My dreams are being a well known concept artist in the games industry which I am trying to achieve one step at a time. Hopefully one day i can make this into a reality and help visualize some amazing games along the way. Being a lead artist, helping other artists to visualize the overall feel of the game world and it’s inhabitants from start to finish would be my long term goal in my career. In the meantime working as part of a team in the games industry would be something ive dreamed of since I can remember.
Thank you for reading and I hope to hear back from you soon.
